About me
Me in a nutshell: a mix of fun and tough love. I’m a fun-loving guy, and I like to create an environment where it feels more like two friends chatting and cracking jokes than a class. But I also want my students to take their language practice seriously, because I actually want them to progress and feel that joy of proficiency in another language. I’ll play a game of Taboo with you (rude words included), but I’ll also nag you to master your fundamentals (basic vocabulary and verb conjugation, etc.).
About my lessons
🚫 MINORS So you’ve decided to take on the heroic task of learning Portuguese, of all things. Then belt up, princess, because this language whizz is about to take you on an epic journey! I have the certification, knowledge, and experience—everything but the kitchen sink. But what really matters is that I’ll have you speaking Portuguese from the very first lesson, even if you’re an absolute beginner ;-) If you’re a newbie, I also provide you with audio exercises for independent practice before your next lesson.

Tiago is the best language teacher I had so far! He is always listening and adapting to what is students need.
Fantastic teacher.
Enjoying my learning with Tiago - something I really look forward to after my workday - is a very positive and supportive experience.
I enjoy the session with Tiago a lot. He is a competent teacher and has a variety of course material prepared. You as the student are in the driver seat and can focus on what you want to learn next.
In my first lesson with Tiago, we played Cards Against Humanity. Needless to say, this was crucial in helping me overcome my unconscious but damaging fear of making mistakes, and it motivated me to book many more lessons. He is someone who exudes a passion for languages, especially for their structure - he will always be ready to explain the hidden mechanics behind any grammatical construction. Additionally, he is full of tips and resources to help you build a study routine (though whether you actually stick to it is out of his hands!).
