저는 미국 캘리포니아 샌프란시스코 출신이지만 (미국식 발음) 포르투갈 카스카이스에 살고 있습니다. 한국, 중국, 일본, 폴란드, 헝가리, 독일, 미국 등 여러 나라에서 온라인과 오프라인으로 10년 동안 영어를 가르쳐 왔습니다. 93개국을 여행했고, 세계 곳곳에서 봉사활동도 했습니다. 저는 자연과 하이킹을 좋아해서 여행과 야외 활동에 대한 이야기를 나누는 것을 즐깁니다. 또한 영성, 점성술 등 다양한 주제에 대해서도 이야기하는 것을 좋아합니다. A1부터 C2 레벨까지 가르쳐 본 경험이 있습니다. 제 교수법은 학습이 꼭 네 벽 안에 갇혀 있을 필요는 없다는 생각에 기반합니다. 모든 수업에 호기심, 놀이, 그리고 실생활과의 연결을 불어넣어 영어를 생동감 있고 실용적인 언어로 만들어 줍니다. 대화, 창의력, 그리고 문화 탐구를 통해 학생들이 언어를 단순한 과목이 아닌 새로운 경험으로 가는 다리로 여기도록 격려합니다. 수업은 유연하고, 상호작용적이며, 재미로 가득 차 있습니다. 학생들이 학습 과정을 즐길 때 자신감과 유창성도 자연스럽게 향상되기 때문입니다.I'm from San Francisco, California (American accent) but live in Cascais, Portugal. I've been teaching English for 10 years, online and in person, in various countries like Korea, China, Japan, Poland, Hungary, Germany, and the United States. I've been to 93 countries and have volunteered my way around the world. I love talking about travel and outdoor adventures as I love nature and hiking. I also love to talk about spirituality, astrology and the like as well as many other subjects.I have experience teaching A1-C2. My teaching style is rooted in the idea that learning never needed four walls. I bring curiosity, play, and real-world connection into every lesson, making English feel alive and practical. Through conversation, creativity, and cultural exploration, I encourage students to see language as a bridge to new experiences, not just a subject. Classes are flexible, interactive, and infused with fun because when students enjoy the process, confidence and fluency grow naturally.

저 스스로 시각적이고 운동 감각적인 학습자이기 때문에, 제 교수법은 학습을 체화하기 위해서는 몸을 움직여야 한다는 것입니다. 학습은 놀이와 같으며, 게임과 상상력을 활용하여 발견하고, 비판적으로 사고하고, 문제를 해결하고, 상상하고, 창의력을 발휘하는 것입니다. 자신에게 가장 효과적인 학습 방법을 찾는 것은 아이들에게 평생 학습자가 되는 개념을 심어주는 데 매우 중요합니다. 이를 위해서는 자신에게 가장 적합한 학습 및 기억 방법을 찾기 위해 다양한 방법을 시도해 봐야 합니다. 학습은 개인마다 다르며, 인생에서 가장 큰 미스터리 게임 중 하나입니다. 자신에게 맞는 학습 방법을 찾으면 무엇이든 배울 수 있습니다. 기존의 교육 방식은 획일적인 학습 방식을 고수하지만, 저는 그런 구시대적인 방식과 남들이 배운 방식이 결코 제가 배운 방식이 아니라는 것을 알게 되었습니다. 호기심, 놀이, 탐구, 그리고 질문을 통해 우리는 읽는 책과 숙제에서 많은 것을 배울 수 있습니다. 학습 과정을 흥미롭게 만들 수 있다면, 우리는 배운 것에 자부심을 느끼고 더 배우고 싶어질 것입니다! 학습은 재미있어야 합니다. 진정한 마법은 바로 거기에서 일어납니다!As a visual and kinesthetic learner myself, my pedagogy of teaching is that we need to move our bodies to embody learning. Learning is about play and how to use games and our imagination to discover, critically think, problem solve, imagine, and be creative. To learn how you learn the best, is invaluable to promoting the concept to children of becoming a lifelong learner. To be able to do this, we need to try out different ways to learn and remember in order to find out what works best for us. Learning is all about the individual, and one of life’s biggest mystery games. Once we find out how we like to learn, we can learn anything. Traditional pedagogies subscribe to the one size fits all learning practice, but I find that outdated and how everyone else learned, is never how I learned. By curiosity, play, inquiry, and questioning, we can learn so much by what we read and what we are assigned for homework. If we can make that process engaging, it can be something that we are proud of what we learned of and that we want to learn more! Learning needs to be fun, that is where the real magic takes place!
