Susanna Zema
Learn Italian naturally and discover Italian culture
About Me
Hello! I'm Susanna, an Italian teacher originally from Italy and currently living in London. I teach Italian, English, and Japanese, and I love helping people discover not only a new language, but also the culture and way of thinking that goes with it. My journey with languages led me to study Japanese language and culture at university and live in Japan for a year. After this experience, I moved to Genoa, where I worked for Costa Crociere, connecting with people from all over the world every day. I then moved to London, where I worked for Japan Airlines for five years. Living and working in international contexts taught me how important languages are for building connections, understanding different cultures, and feeling comfortable communicating with people from other countries. I'm also an artist and have a great passion for literature, art, travel, and world cultures. I believe these interests can make learning a language much more personal, stimulating, and fun. My approach to teaching is relaxed, positive, and personalized. I love creating a space where students can feel free to speak, ask questions, and make mistakes without fear. I believe that learning a language isn't just about memorizing words and grammatical rules, but about opening a door to a new way of seeing the world. I'd be happy to accompany you on your learning journey!
About My Lessons
My Italian lessons are personalized based on your level, goals, and interests. Whether you want to learn Italian from scratch, improve your conversation skills, prepare for a trip to Italy, or feel more confident in your daily life and work, we'll create a program tailored to your needs. We'll work on grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and conversation, but we'll emphasize real-world Italian: everyday expressions, idioms, nuances, and situations you might encounter in everyday life. I also like to integrate elements of Italian culture into my lessons, such as art, literature, cuisine, traditions, and current events, choosing topics that truly interest you. My lessons take place in a relaxed and positive environment, where you can speak freely, ask questions, and learn from your mistakes without fear. My goal is to help you not only learn Italian, but feel truly comfortable using it.
