CELTA English Teacher · 20+ Years · Speaking Confidence & Custom Courses English isn’t my first language either, I learned it just like you. Let me guide you to speaking with confidence.
About Me
Hi! I’m Camila 👋 an English teacher from Brazil, now living in Porto, Portugal. For the past 20 years I’ve helped people go from “I understand everything but freeze when I have to speak” to speaking English with real confidence. I’m CELTA-certified (University of Cambridge) with a degree in Pedagogy (University of São Paulo). Over 20 years I’ve taught children, teenagers, adults and professionals, including corporate teams at companies like Nestlé and Nokia, and I’ve designed and run my own English programs and trained other teachers. A little bit more about me: I’m passionate about two things: food and travel. I believe a country’s cuisine is one of the highest expressions of its culture, and like Anthony Bourdain, I try to be a traveller, not a tourist. I love cooking for my husband and friends, I’m into cinema, literature, languages and History, and I share my home in Porto with two little cats. 🐱 I’m also a genuinely curious person, so I can’t wait to learn about your country and culture too. Some of the best conversations start exactly there.
About My Lessons
What lessons with me are like: My classroom is a safe, welcoming space. You will never be judged here: mistakes are simply part of learning, and I’ll help you see them that way. I’m patient with everyone, whether you’re a nervous beginner or an advanced speaker polishing the details. If you want fast results, I’ll be more structured and demanding to get you there. And because of my experience, I don’t just “do conversation”: I build a course around exactly what you need, whether that’s fluency, professional English, job interviews, or exam preparation. A real example: one of my students went from being unable to get through a job interview in English to interviewing with confidence, and taking part in full selection processes entirely in English. That transformation is what I love most.
